After having a break from my art practice to raise a youn family, I was often asked to do 'face painting' at the school fete. I decided to do face paintings on my own terms and get back to the basics of mark making and painting on dummy heads.
I started off looking at the influences of Peking Opera & 'Gaming' aesthetics when I embarked on this body of work.
I also considered the Hong Kong protestors at the time, and was thinking about facial recognition & anti protestor software.
